SHINee’s Taemin participated in an interview ahead of his second mini album “WANT.”

He’s returning as a soloist for the first time in a year and a half, the idol announced he’d focus on his individual activities this year since the members of his group will be busy with the military.

Onew is currently serving the military; he started back in December 2018. Key has announced his plans for upcoming enlistment; he will enlist on March 4 while Minho also stated he plans on enlisting this year.

Taemin is the youngest member of the group and he still has time before his military enlistment which explains his goal to focus on his solo activities this year.

A lot of juniors choose Taemin as their role model, the idol commented on that saying,

“When I was young, in the blink of an eye I was on stage, I am very happy and thankful that someone is talking about me as their role model.”

The most difficult moment the SHINee members had to go through must’ve been Jonghyun’s sudden passing which took the whole industry by storm, about this Taemin said,

“From time to time, I suddenly feel his emptiness. It comes to my mind out of the blue.”

The idol said that he’s doing well now and has gotten himself together but added,

“He suddenly comes to my mind sometimes.”

He also talked about promoting as a four-member group, he said,

“SHINee released three albums last year. At the time we thought that we should show ourselves rather than hide it. We talked among ourselves promising to act the same, so hopefully other people will also treat us the same way.”

Taemin’s second mini-album was released on February 11 at 6 p.m. KST.

Have you listened to it yet?

  1. I’m happy Taemin is doing better, happy he’s healed – even if it’s just a bit… but why am I suddenly crying as I read his words? Why does it pain me so much?
