On January 22, Business Post released a very interesting article, in the article, they state that JYP Entertainment is actually planning on debuting three more groups following ITZY’s debut.
According to the report, JYP Entertainment has plans to debut a total of five groups on the course of two years, they already debuted Stray Kids in 2017 and will debut ITZY early this year and will follow up with three more groups this year.
According to Financial researcher Lee Ki Hoon, there will be a huge competition between rookie boy groups this year, YG Entertainment, Big Hit, and Mnet are all planning on debuting new boy groups this year.
YG Entertainment will debut the new boy group through the survival show “YG Treasure Box” and the last member of the 7-boy group will be revealed tomorrow.
Big Hit Entertainment is currently preparing for TXT’s debut, its highly anticipated because it’s the agency first group following the success of BTS.
Mnet has also announced their plans to create a new boy group through the new installment of Produce series, an airing date is yet to be revealed but they’re expected to debut this year as well.
On the other hand, competition among rookie girl groups is not as fierce, Financial researcher Lee Ki Hoon says ITZY will be the center of attention among rookie girl groups.
This means that there are a total of three more groups that will reportedly debut this year from JYP Entertainment as well.
