JYP Entertainment has shocked its fans by suddenly dropping exciting Prologue Film featuring its upcoming girl group ITZY.

ITZY has been under people’s radar for a while now since it had been previously reported that JYP Entertainment is planning on debuting its upcoming girl group in early 2019; the agency stepped up to confirm they had been preparing for their upcoming girl group but stated they had no a specific debut date in mind.

This is why it was a shock when JYP Entertainment revealed the five members of its upcoming girl group ITZY. Fans hadn’t been expecting this, they did theorize the upcoming girl group name would be ITZY because JYP had trademarked the name not too long ago.

The girls officially made their debut on the charts on February 12 at 6 p.m. KST.

Ryujin already became popular before she even debuted; she had participated in JTBC’s “MIXNINE” and placed at number one.

Yang Hyun Suk was especially impressed with her and said he wished she was a part of his agency.

She is born on April 17, 2001, and BTS fans ARMY are already familiar with her, she appeared in BTS’s LOVE YOURSELF highlight reel with J-hope and Jimin.

She is an excellent dancer and very good at rapping so its possible she will be the main rapper of her group, she’s also likely the face of the group since her popularity skyrocketed after appearing on “MIXNINE.”

Her idol is Lee Hyo Ri and she wanted to become an idol because she likes dancing and hopes to make people happy watching her performances. She trained for four years.

Born Shin Yuna, she is the youngest member of her group born on December 9, 2003. She is rumored to have trained for three years.

BTS’s ARMY also know the rookie, she appeared in BTS Love Yourself Highlight Reel with Jungkook.

Position: Visual, dance, maknae


Chaeryeong is also a familiar face to JYP stans and ONCE, she previously appeared on JYP’s hit survival show SIXTEEN back in 2015. She is reportedly the only SIXTEEN contestant who hasn’t left the agency after she failed to make the final lineup in TWICE. She came in number 12.

She had also participated in KPOP STAR 3 with her sister Lee Chaeyeon, her sister is now part of one of the biggest most successful rookie girl groups, IZ*ONE. Fans can’t wait to see the two interact when they meet on music shows.

She was born on June 5th, 2001 and has trained for five years.

Position: Dance


Born Choi Jisu, the ITZY member can speak English and has trained for more than two years.

She will be the vocalist of her group; she was born on July 21st, 2000. She’s was reportedly an SM Entertainment trainee before she joined JYP, however, its not been confirmed yet.

Yeji was born on May 26th, 2000 and has trained in her agency for three years. She is also a familiar face for JYP stans, she appeared on Stray Kids’ Survival Show episode one back in 2017.

She’s called the hidden weapon of JYP, as said by her agency sunbae 2PM Junho.

She also competed on SBS’s “The Fan” back in 2018, however, she was eliminated, she competed under her real name Hwang Yeji
