Prepare yourselves guys, Wanna One is set to disband on December 31st.

The agency managing the group, Swing Entertainment, released an official statement to Wanna One’s official fan café explaining the expiration date of their contracts as well the future with their promotions following the expiration of their contracts.

On multiple occasions, many sources reported that Wanna One members’ agencies were in talks to contract extension to cover the period through January 2019, so the group can attend more end-year award shows together and prepare for their farewell concert.

Although in their official statement they confirmed the disbandment date to December 31st, they explained they will still be managing the group throughout their January promotions.

Here is their full translated statement:

“Hello, this is Swing Entertainment.

Their official activities such as the awards ceremony after the end of the contract will be carried out according to the original plan, all official activities of Wanna One’s will be concluded at the end of January concert.

We’re grateful to Wanna One’s 11 members who showed a wonderful appearance for about a year and a half since August 2017 until now.

All of Swing Entertainment and its staff will do their best for Wanna One’s for the rest of the year and will continue to cheer on their new start and future activities.

We would also like to express our sincere appreciation to the many fans who have loved and supported Wanna One and congratulations to the members who will soon wrap up their promotions and begin their new journeys.

  1. Geez, their entertainment company doesnt keep artists that long. (Never mind, it’s their former cuz they switched in June). But still, normally artists at that company only stay normally for 1 or 2 years, no matter how succesful. (Ex. I.O.I, Lucky J, Johee, and Baekchan.)
