On November 21, Song Hye Kyo, Park Bo Gum and director Park Shin Woo attended the upcoming tvN drama “Boyfriend” press conference.

“Boyfriend” marks the highly anticipated comeback dramas of both hallyu actors Song Hye Kyo, Park Bo Gum. Both actors have enjoyed a great 2016, Park Bo Gum starring in the immensely popular historical drama “Moonlight Drawn By Clouds” while Song Hye Kyo starred in “Descendants Of The Sun.”

“Boyfriend” marks both Song Hye Kyo and Park Bo Gum’s comebacks to the small screen, fans were excited about their return but a bit skeptic because of their large age gap.

Song Hye Kyo was born in 1981 and is 37 years old while Park Bo Gum was born in 1993 and is 25 years old, they are 12 years apart.

Park Bo Gum talked about his previous work in reference to “Boyfriend,” he said,

“About ‘Love In The Moonlight,’ it was a historical drama but this work is different and is set in modern times. I played the tough crown prince then; In ‘Boyfriend’ Kim Jin Hyuk is a bright, positive and warm human so I think it will be quite different. So I hope more people will show interest in this drama.”

About the age gap, Song Hye Kyo admitted she was worried about other people’s perception, she said,

“Compared to ‘Descendants of the Sun,’ our drama is happy and cute. When we were cast, there was a lot of talk about the age difference. I was also worried back then that it would be uncomfortable for viewers to see. It would’ve been a problem if we had the same age in the drama but we’re an old-younger couple, I play a company CEO so I wasn’t too burdened by the certainty of such settings.”

What do you think of the age gap? are you personally worried about it?

“Boyfriend” will air its first episode on November 28 taking over “The Smile Has Left Your Eyes” time slot.

  1. Age gap is not a problem to me as long as they can play their character well and the script is good.I have faith with SHK’s choices so i am onboard with this. PBG is great too and Blossom so far has been really good on picking scripts. Teasers and posters are great so my excitement and anticipation builds up. Can’t wait

  2. The age gap is also needed and required in the story thats why the director and the writer choose shk and pbg as a couple. I dont care about the age gap of two lead actors. Im interested and excited about is the story and their acting . We all know that shk is choosy in every project she is doing.
