WINNER’s Song Mino has finally made his solo debut with his first studio album “XX.”
It has been four years since Mino debuted with his group WINNER; he had previously released solo tracks through “Show Me the Money 4” but this marks his first solo album.
His solo release joined the stiff competition alongside many other great artists such as IU, EXO and TWICE. He is also personally competing with his fellow label-mate BLACKPINK Jennie who had made a successful debut with “SOLO.”
Her track became an instant hit and topped all major Korean charts upon its release. Song Mino is competing with Jennie and he was asked how he feels to be competing with her.
He said,
“I am trying not to look out for my ranking on music charts. I congratulate Jennie for taking the number one spot now. It does bother me, but its not that Jennie’s bothersome, I am more bothered by how my song will be ranked.
But I am just grateful to have been able to release many songs and I am curious to see the public reaction to them.”
Song Mino is doing great with his first solo release; he has topped almost all major real-time charts with the title track “Fiancé.”
