The highly anticipated award ceremony has finally aired and the results are in!
The 2018 MGA was held on November 6 at Namdong Gymnasium in Incheon, a slew of some of the best Kpop groups and soloists attended the event and performed as well.
The nominees had been announced back on October 1st, this is the first year for this awards ceremony.
To have been eligible, the music must have been released between October 1, 2017, and September 30, 2018. The nominations were chosen based on Genie Music’s chart data during this time period.
The voting took period on the Genie Music website from October 1, 2018, through October 31, 2018, and the awards organizers revealed the criteria for each category.

Best Producer Award: Bang Si Hyuk (The PD couldn’t attend so BTS accepted the award of his behalf and delivered his speech)

Best Female Solo Artist: Kim Chung Ha
Best Global Performance: TWICE
Best New Male Artist: Stray Kids
Best New Female Artist: (G)I-dle
Best Selling Artists Of The Year: TWICE
