Fans previously suspected that BLACKPINK and British singer Dua Lipa might be collaborating for a single.
Not too long after that, she confirmed that she will be collaborating with the girls of BLACKPINK for a single called “Kiss and Make up.”
Back then, it was revealed that there won’t be a music video for the song since the artists schedule just didn’t match. However, that seems not to be the case anymore.
Dua Lipa is releasing her deluxe album on October 19; their collaboration song will drop then. She recently sat down for an interview with 987FM at the Singapore Grand Prix 2018 and talked about her recent album and inspiration behind it.
In the interview, the MCs asked her about how her collaboration with BLACKPINK came to be and she explained that it happened by chance after Lisa and Jennie attended her concert in Seoul.
“I got to meet them and we hanged out for a bit. They were really really sweet. It kinda happened by chance where I just said ‘oh, maybe we should just send it to them and see if they like it and if they want to jump on it.’ We got a really fast response and they were up for it.”
She even revealed that they helped her translate the lyrics to Korean and that they also sang the song in Korean and English as well.
The MCs excited about the news asked if there would be a music video with BLACKPINK, Dua Lipa said,
This made fans happier; it would be so nice to see the five of them in a music video together.
