YouTube Confirms, “Fake Love” Didn’t Score 40 Million Views Within The First 24 Hours

Contrary to the belief we had held for the past couple of days, BTS’s “Fake Love” did not surpassed the 40 million views within the first 24 hours of its release.

Previously, it had been reported that “Fake Love” reached a staggering 40 million views 24 hours following its release, but it seems that the counter was wrong.





According to Billboard, YouTube states that “Fake Love” has in fact reached 35.9 million views with the first 24 hours, making it the 3rd highest viewed music video on YouTube within the first 24 hours, and the 3rd highest viewed music video within the first 24 hours, Taylor Swift’s “Look What You Made Me Do” holds number one with 43.2 million views in 2017 within one day, while PSY’s “Gentleman” reached 36 million views in its first 24 hours back in 2013.

“Fake Love” holds the record for the highest views of an MV within the first 24 hours in 2018 so far.

According to YouTube “Fake Love” reached 4.8 million views within the first hour of its release, and also broke the record for the most likes in YouTube history in one day, it reached 3.9 likes within the first 24 hours. The second spot goes to BTS’s “DNA,” it reached 2.3 million likes within the first 24 hours while “MIC Drop (Remix)” MV hold number 3 with 2.3 million likes.
