EXO’s Chanyeol is joining “Memories of the Alhambra.”
On May 12, a source from tvN confirmed that the idol has been cast to play the role of Jung Sae Joo, Park Shin Hye’s character Jung Hee Joo younger brother
“Memories of the Alhambra” is a story about a company CEO (Hyun Bin) and the peculiar things that happens as he goes to Granada for a business trip; he ends up staying at an old hotel run by Jung Hee Joo.
Jung Sae Joo is a programmer who lives in his own world, following his tough childhood he closes his heart, the only person he opens up to is his sister Jung Hee Joo.
“Memories of the Alhambra” will be directed by Song Jae Kyung who previously worked on “W” and written by Ahn Gil Ho who previously wrote “Stranger.”
The drama is aiming to air in November.
It feels like, again, Chanyeol is getting a smaller role in a very huge production which is a nice move in my opinion, unlike some idols who think they deserve the lead role when they obviously are still lacking.
In my opinion, Chanyeol is okay as an actor, he isn’t great but okay. I have seen him in Missing 9 and many other productions but he never stroke me as a serious actor, unlike D.O who is just simply amazing.
This is why I don’t know how to feel about the casting choice, I like Hyun Bin and Shin Hye unnie, but I’m afraid that Chanyeol’s lacking performance will affect the drama negatively.
I hope I will be proven wrong in this upcoming November!
