The highly anticipated SBS drama “Hymn of Death” has added two more stars to its cast.

On March 15, two new actors joined the upcoming SBS drama, Shin Hye Sum and Lee Ji Hoon.

Shin Hye Sun’s agency YNK Entertainment confirmed that she will play the female lead in the upcoming drama. She will play the role of Yun Sim Deok, the first Korean female soprano.

Lee Ji Hoon’s agency confirmed he will play the role of Hong Nan Pa, a close friend of Kim Woo Jin (to be played by Lee Jong Suk) and Yun Sim Deok.

The three actors have previously starred in the popular KBS school series “School 2013,” they will be reuniting 5 years later in the upcoming two-part series drama special.

“Hymn of Death” will focus on telling the tragic love story between playwright Kim Woo Jin and Yun Sim Deok that ends in both their deaths at the ages of 29.

According to Shin Hye Sun agency, they’re set to begin filming in mid-April.

My Thoughts

I have done my research and even listened to “Hymn of Death” song, and I loved it so much, now its stuck in my head.

So, as you may already know the story ends badly for both parties. I love dramas based in the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s. it will be interesting to see a drama that we know will have a miserable ending.

There will probably be a lot of tears shed by the end of the series. In short, Yun Sim Deok and Kim Woo Jin (a married man) met and fell in love in Japan, back in 1926 on their way from Japan back to Korea in a ship they jumped to their death ( a double suicide). So, ya….

The song “Hymn of Death” was released after her death and enjoyed great success, sadly, Yun Sim Deok wasn’t there to enjoy it.

I can’t wait for the drama, who’s excited?
