On February 15, EXO’s Baekhyun did something that sent his fans into a frenzy.
On February 15, he held an Instagram live steam with EXO-CBX members, Chen and Xiumin to interact with fans, during the live stream, a phone number rang and Baekhyun publicized the number thinking it was a sasaeng fan’s phone number calling him again.
The live streaming session was constantly lagging and the connection was being cut off, Baekhyun was annoyed with this issue and asked the caller to stop ringing.
He then said,
“I can’t continue the broadcast because that person keeps calling me.” He then directly mentioned the caller’s number.

As expected, Exo-ls didn’t like what that person did and found it pretty annoying that he was cutting off the live stream and being extremely rude to the idols.
The netizen began experiencing an unprecedent number of calls from Exo-ls who were upset with her/his actions.
The netizen then posted to his/her Instagram asking fans to stop calling claiming that he/she doesn’t even know how many EXO members there are. The netizen said in English,
“I don’t know his phone no. (number) Pls stop the call. I’m not the fan.”
In Korean the netizen claimed that he didn’t even know how many members EXO had.
Following the netizen plead for fans to stop harassing/cursing/ sending all sort of threatening messages and calls, other Korean netizens began criticizing Baekhyung for his attitude and for blaming an innocent person and labeling them as a sasaeng.
Following the huge backlash, Baekhyun posted this to his Instagram account, he said,
“010-5183-xxxx (piece of the mentioned number) please stop calling that number. He/she is not a sasaeng fans, so please I ask of you to not contact this innocent person under any circumstances. I would appreciate your favor. Please do not contact the person who is irrelevant. I hope there are no more people who won’t be affected by my mistakes. And please do not call me.”

My Reaction
First of all, lets talk about the lagging during the live stream. Baekhyun has been interrupted often during the live stream. So if the person calling didn’t know the idol and the idol didn’t answer back, wouldn’t that indirectly tell the caller to stop fucking calling?
I mean that’s only common sense, unless its urgent, if the person you’re calling keeps avoiding your calls and you’re not sure of the number, its probably because that person doesn’t know you and doesn’t want to answer.
The live stream last for almost 40 minutes. Man, some people are persistent. I won’t defend Baekhyun because what he did was wrong. Even if the caller was an anti-fan or an obsessive fan, publicizing his/her phone number to thousands of your fans will redirect the negative energy towards the sasaeng, the sasaeng will probably claim they didn’t know shit, eventually the only person hurt will be Baekhyun.
In the spur of the moment I think he just was fed up by being followed, called and so on. That post on his Instagram is not even an apology, he just asked the fans to stop calling that person’s number.
I understand his frustration. If I were him, I would also probably write the same post. He made an innocent mistake. People should just stop calling him out and sasaeng should stop calling him for crying out loud, do these sasaeng have no life?[/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
