Yesterday, the first day of the 32nd Golden Disc Awards took place, IU took home the Grand Prize award (daesang).
The first night of the prestigious award has focused on awarding artists with the biggest sales in digital music release.
Red Velvet were one of the Bongsang awards winners, IU took home the Daesang award, she took time to thank her fans, staff and all other artists who took home awards that night.

She also talked about her good friend Jonghyun, and about the importance of grieving for his death, after her speech ended she took the stage to perform an encore of her hit 2017 song “Through the Night,” she performed the song with all the artists on the stage with her.
When IU began singing, camera zoomed in on other idols, fans noticed that Red Velvet’s Yeri breaking down in tears, she was crying and had her back to the camera, she was being comforted by Akdong Musician’s Lee Suhyun, and TWICE’s Nayeon alongside her group members.
Fans know that Yeri was a very friend and hoobae of Jonghyun, they’re all well aware that Yeri had has a difficult time following his death and even during his funeral.
