MBC has announced that it will not be airing any new dramas until mid-march.

On January 2, MBC source released an official statement on the matter,

“Instead of showing dramas in a hurry to meet schedule, we decided to postpone the preparations and take it slowly.”

The source explained that following after “I Am Not A Robot” and “Two Cops” end in late January, no new dramas will air in their time slot. Instead MBC will focus on covering 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics.

New dramas will start airing in Mid-March, while the weekend dramas Money Flower” and “Man Who Sets The Table” will continue to air as usual.

My Thoughts

Looks like that CEO change is actually a good change… thank goodness!

After that whole “Hwayugi” controversy and inspection, as well as MBC’s strike, the broadcasting station realized it would be better to push back.

That’s a great decision. This means that no one has to hurry up and do a sloppy job to be done on time. It was a well-thought out decision that will save MBC’s face following everything that went wrong in 2017.

This means that Woo Do Hwan’s upcoming drama with Joy will be delayed as a result…

I don’t mind waiting. As long as its for the better of everyone, the people involved in production; whose efforts are always overlooked; and all actors working hard on the drama.
