Following Serious On-Set Accident, How Well Did “Hwayugi” Perform In This Week’s Ratings?


tvN’s “Hwayugi” was one of the most anticipated kdramas of December 2017. Yet, the drama filming and broadcast was halted when a staff member from the set injured himself and was paralyzed due to the incident.

Following the news; which spread like wild fire; tvN halted filming and broadcast to assist the on-site investigation by the MOEL and the police.

The drama resumed its normal broadcast this week. It aired its 3rd and 4th episode on 6th and 7th of January respectively.

But how well did “Hwayugi” do in ratings? Did it bounce back up? Or did plummet?

According to Nielsen Korea, the 3rd episode of the drama which aired on the 6th of January rated an average of 5.6% nationwide, the 4th episode has rated even better achieving 6% nationwide.

This is an increase from its last episode broadcast and is higher than its premiere ratings. The drama ratings continue to soar higher, the Hong sister fantasy narrative, the CGI and the actor’s amazing performance made this drama ratings go up.
