SM Entertainment and its artists are cancelling events and delaying others amid the sudden passing of SHINee’s Jonghyun.
SM Entertainment released a statement on December 19,
“We would like to inform fans; who are waiting for EXO winter album “Universe;” that the album release date has been pushed back to December 26 inevitably, we ask for your understanding.”
EXO was originally aiming to release the winter album on December 21st but due to the sudden passing of their label-mate, they decided to delay it and mourn the death of him.
Jonghyun was found dead in a residence in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul on the afternoon of the 18th, but died after being transferred to a hospital.
Jonghyun will be laid to rest at 9 a.m. on December 21st.
